Meet your professional requirements to be current in BLS by completing the CRANAplus BLS course online and undertaking your practical assessment via a virtual platform at a time and place that suits you. By registering to this course you agree to source the required equipment in advance of the clinical assessment to be conducted over video conferencing media with a CRANAplus assessor.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Perform BLS as per Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines for the adult, child and infant
  2. Describe the components of the BLS algorithm (DRSABCD)
  3. List the steps in using an automated external defibrillator (AED) and safety precautions
  4. Discuss cessation of BLS

Course Delivery
Based on the Australian Resuscitation Council Guidelines and best practice principles, course content meets the requirements for medical professionals to be certified in CPR. Following successful completion of both the theory and practical components you will be awarded a Basic Life Support Certificate and have the skills required for the first line management of the patient in cardiac arrest.

Virtual Clinical Assessment
By registering for this module, you agree to complete the CRANAplus clinical assessment via video conferencing media. Once you have completed the online topics and have access to the required equipment for the clinical assessment, please contact CRANAplus directly via the Client Enquiry tab to arrange a practical assessment via video conferencing media with a CRANAplus assessor. 

You must demonstrate the application of the BLS algorithm in a simulated scenario using the listed clinical equipment in the presence of the clinical assessor. Please note, this is a demonstrated assessment not one that you can “talk” through, so access to all required equipment is imperative.
